It’s Insensitive for Okowa’s Aides to Mock and Berate Urhobo Leadership, Group Says.

Responding to the claims of some lousy aides of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who were recently mocking leaders of the Urhobo ethnic nationality in Delta State that it has no worthy leader that can unseat Okowa in the forthcoming 2019 Governorship elections, a group known as Continuity Advocates For Omo-Agege (CAO), has said the act is not just immature and ethnocentric, but also insensitive of supposed Governor’s aides.

The coordinator of the group,  Comrade Ogegere Enis said this on Sunday, adding that power belongs to God and He gives it to whomever he dimmed fit depending on His purpose per time.

“Okowa’s aides think it is wise to insult and mock the largest ethnic group in Delta State. They want us to believe that Gov. Okowa is a god when he cannot win the 2019 governorship election without the inputs of Urhobos.

“The attitude of berating the great leaders of Urhobo shows how sheepish and insensitive they are. I know that this single action will make the people of Urhobo to form a front and send a very strong signal to Governor Okowa and his uncultured aides that power actually belongs to God”, Ogegere said.

It can be recall that one of Okowa’s aides, Ossai Ovie Success has said that Urhobo leaders have been losing elections since 2007 after the erstwhile Delta State Governor cum ex-convict, Chief James Onanefe Ibori left office. According to him, the Urhobo ethnic group no longer has the capacity to produce winning candidates because it lacks unity amongst its front-liners and that it’s youths would rather queue behind Okowa’s PDP to collect N5000 during the elections.

The statement, which was obtained by CCNIGERIA reads in part,  “Politicians from Urhobo ethnic nationality cannot contest and win the governorship election in Delta State, especially against Governor Okowa.  So it would be better if they don’t try because they will loose again and become too old to run after 2019.”

Ossai, who also castigated some notable and respected leaders from the Urhobo ethnic nationality such as Senator Ovie Omo-Agege,   Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru and Olorogun Otega Emerhor among others, also said no ethnic group in Delta State can stop Governor Okowa’s re-election bid since Urhobo cannot do it. He likened Okowa to be a god, whose reign is unstoppable irrespective of his poor performance in office.

While complementing Ossai’s position another aide of Governor Okowa, Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu said, “Urhobo leaders are confused because none of them has the capacity to unseat the incumbent Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.”

Meanwhile, Deltans across the three Senatorial Districts have been rating the administration of Governor Okowa as the poorest in the history of Delta State.

One of the Civil Servants, who pleaded anonymity, told our Correspondent that “since I started working with the State’s Ministry of Education in 2003, I have not seen an administration as worse as that of Governor Okowa.

“Salaries are not been paid as at when due, there’s unjust pay cut, and there is a plan to drop some of us. Civil Servants are living a beggarly lifestyle in Delta State and we are afraid to talk due to fear of being sanctioned”, the Civil Servant said.

In another development, the Secretary, Media and Publicity Committee, Light of APC, Delta State, Comrade Michael Emumena Paul told CCNIGERIA that “Governor Okowa lacks conscience as his administration has done nothing tangible to ameliorate the suffering of the ordinary Deltan and address the problem of infrastructural development across the State”.

Emumena added that funds were wasted on building roads that couldn’t last six months, which is an indication of how reckless, incompetent and unpatriotic the Okowa administration is.

He advised Deltans to take advantage of the ongoing INEC Voter’s Card Registration exercise to get themselves registered and prepare to use same to eject the agents of under development from Delta State’s government house.

“They don’t want to develop our State and create an enabling environment for Deltans, yet they are not willing to relinquish power to those that can develop us. This is why I am calling on all well meaning Deltans not to disenfranchised themselves because their votes is the only weapon to defeat these agents of darkness, who will stop at nothing in leading our dear State into the dungeon”, Emumena said.

Great responds from the group. In a government that has failed in their responsibility lack the standing to talk about 2019. Am beginning to wonder what they are teaching the massess.
