In a statement obtained exclusively by CCNIGERIA, Uduaghan said, “they started the rumour as one of those April fool stories on April 1, 2017, being world’s fool day.”
The ex-Governor, who stated categorically that “I have not left PDP”, expressed dissatisfaction on how such a sensitive subject can be discussed under the guise of “April Fool’s Day” and charged the public to disregard the rumour.
Meanwhile, some critics that frowned at the alleged defection said they have been suspecting Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan of pitching tent with the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, right from the moment he cautioned those that were traveling overseas to snap photos with the his predecessor and ex-convict, Chief James Ibori.
Though, Uduaghan has dismissed the growing rumour, PDP as a political party has suffered serious setback in Delta State following the defection of some of its key players like Hon. Victor Ochei, a former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and Governorship Aspirant in the run up to the 2015 gubernatorial election as well as Chief Rume Ima Niboro, former presidential aide amongst others.
